Klickitat County Court Docket Searches
Start with the court level, then pick the matching tool. For Superior Court case information, the public option is Odyssey Portal. For a cross-level index, use Washington Search Case Records. It also covers East and West District Courts. It adds the Goldendale, Bingen, and White Salmon municipal dockets. Not sure which court holds the case? Check the ticket, notice, or filed paper. It should say.
Before you search a Klickitat County court docket, collect a few details. Bring the party name exactly as printed. Bring the case number with its dashes and a rough filing or hearing date. A case number search beats a name search. One name can appear in several files. Once a match appears, compare the court, the case type, the year, and the status. The statewide index is not the full official record. For anything official, get a certified copy or filed paper from the clerk that holds the case.
- Identify Superior, East District, West District, or the municipal court route named on the paper.
- Open Odyssey for Superior Court or Washington Search Case Records for a broad local search.
- Enter the full case number. If searching by name, add the court and case type to narrow matches.
- Read the newest event and hearing setting, then confirm a current date with the court.
- Request the actual document or a certified copy from the Superior, East, or West clerk.
Two Klickitat Docket Portals
Two portals split the work of a Klickitat County court docket search. Odyssey Smart Search opens public Superior Court case information. Filters cover county, case type, status, filing dates, and judicial officer. Its Search Hearings tool takes a case number, party, attorney, or bar number. It also accepts judge, courtroom, hearing type, or date range. Anyone can pull anonymous case information. Document access, though, depends on county authorization and the user's role.
The Washington Courts database casts a wider net. It spans municipal, district, superior, and appellate index data. That makes it the safer first stop when you know a name but not whether the case sits in East District, West District, or Superior Court. One caution applies. The state warns the data may be incomplete or wrong, and updates land in about 24 hours. Treat any match as a lead. Learn the court and case number, then go to the local office that keeps the record.
| Official system | Best use | Key limit |
|---|---|---|
| Odyssey Portal | Klickitat Superior Court events and hearings | Anonymous document access is not automatic |
| Washington Search Case Records | Cross-level and municipal index search | Not the complete official court record |
| Find My Court Date | District and municipal hearing dates | Confirm changes with the court |
Court Dockets: What They Show
Think of a Klickitat County court docket as a timeline. Every case event lands in order. Odyssey labels its event view the Register of Actions. It can identify public filings, hearings, orders, and dispositions without showing an image of each document. The Washington index is thinner still. It offers court, type, number, date, and party data, and little beyond that. Read the newest entries in sequence. One habit matters most: never treat a filing as a ruling, or a charge as a finding.
| Case Number | Superior numbers encode year, type, sequence, and county code, as in 26-2-00073-20. |
|---|---|
| Parties | People, businesses, or public bodies and their roles in the case caption. |
| Entries and Filings | Dated public events such as motions, notices, orders, judgments, and disposition entries. |
| Hearing Settings | The date, time, courtroom, judicial officer, and setting type when publicly available. |
| Court and Judge | The court location and assigned judicial officer shown by the public system. |
| Disposition | The recorded outcome, which must be read with later orders and the official case file. |
Klickitat Case Numbers Decoded
A Superior Court case number is a small map. The first two digits give the filing year. The third digit gives the case type: 1 criminal, 2 civil, 3 domestic, 4 probate or guardianship, 5 adoption or paternity, 6 mental illness or alcohol, 7 juvenile dependency, 8 juvenile offender, and 9 judgment. Odyssey lists 20 as Klickitat County's final county code. Even so, a restricted case type is no promise of public access.
District and municipal numbers follow no shared script. Washington Courts says they can mix numbers, letters, dashes, and other characters, with no single statewide meaning. Copy every character straight from the ticket or notice, and pair the number with the right court selection. Routing matters here. A Bingen or White Salmon municipal number goes through West District Court, while a Goldendale municipal number goes through East District Court.
- Register of Actions
- Odyssey's chronological event view for available case activity.
- Setting
- A scheduled court event, not necessarily the trial date.
- Continuance
- A postponement or replacement date that should be checked against the newest entry.
- Disposition
- A recorded result such as a judgment, dismissal, plea, or other resolution.
Klickitat County Courts and Their Dockets
Klickitat County runs one Superior Court and two District Court locations. The County Clerk holds the Superior Court files. Those cover felony, civil, family, probate, guardianship, protection-order, juvenile-dependency, and judgment records. East and West District Courts keep their own limited-jurisdiction files. City cases route into a county District Court. A city hall calendar is not a court docket.
| Court | Docket Covers | Where to Search |
|---|---|---|
| Superior Court | Felony, general civil, domestic, probate, guardianship, protection orders, and other Superior matters | Odyssey, statewide index, and County Clerk |
| East District Court | Misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor, infraction, lower civil, small claims, and Goldendale municipal | State search, East calendars, and East clerk |
| West District Court | West-side district matters plus Bingen and White Salmon municipal dockets | State search, West current dockets, and West clerk |
For one public source covering every route, see the official Washington court directory for Klickitat County. It groups the Superior Court, the clerk, juvenile, district, and municipal contacts in a single listing.
That listing also settles a common point of confusion. The city dockets route through East or West District Court, not through any separate countywide municipal clerk.
Klickitat's Split Clerk System
In Klickitat County, "contact the clerk" is only half the answer. The Klickitat County Clerk serves just the Superior Court. The office sits at 205 S Columbus Avenue, Room 204, Goldendale, and takes Superior case questions and document requests at 509-773-5744. Public hours run weekdays from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
East District Court occupies Room 107 at the same street address. Its number is 509-773-4670. West District Court sits at 501 NE Washington Street in White Salmon, reachable at 509-493-1190. Each office keeps its own records, calendars, payment route, and request process. Send a request to the wrong one and the answer stalls, because Superior, East, and West are separate custodians of their own court records.
East also takes email at kcedc@klickitatcounty.org. Fax reaches 509-773-4653, and its marked south-side drop box takes requests too. West accepts requests several ways. Try in person, by phone, or by mail to PO Box 435. Email works at kcwdc@klickitatcounty.org. So does fax at 509-493-4469. Its entrance drop box is another option. The West records form lets you choose pickup, fax, mail, or email delivery. Either counter can tell you whether a public JIS terminal is available that day.

Court Dates and Settings in Klickitat County
Two state tools cover Klickitat County hearings. Try Find My Court Date for district and municipal settings. Use Odyssey Search Hearings for Superior Court. East District Court keeps a weekly rhythm. In-custody matters come up most days. Set days cover first appearances, civil work, infractions, and criminal calendars. West takes a different approach. It posts current criminal and traffic/civil docket links. There is no fixed public weekly schedule.
Superior Court adds its own docket calendar and local motion-day rules. Helpful as these are, none proves a case has not moved. Check the newest order or setting notice, then call the court the morning of the proceeding. The full Klickitat County court schedule breaks out each confirmation route.
Klickitat's Local Calendar Rhythm
East District Court runs in-custody matters every weekday at 8:30 a.m. First appearances come Monday at 1:30 p.m. Thursday brings civil, small claims, name changes, motions, mitigation, and contested infractions at posted times. State and city criminal dockets sit in their own blocks. East also warns the schedule can shift, so call the morning of court.
Superior Local Rule 1 sets criminal motion days on first, third, and fifth Mondays. Civil motion days fall on first, third, and fifth Tuesdays. Rule 5 gives those calendars a 9:30 a.m. start. Other matters carry their own times and filing cutoffs. Remember that these rules describe calendar structure, not the live status of a single case. For West, open the current docket link and call the office. Its page promises no one fixed weekly pattern.
A posted date can move. Check the latest docket entry or notice and confirm with the court that holds the case before travel or a remote appearance.
Docket Access Under Washington Law
Washington law treats court records as presumptively open. Laws, rules, orders, and case law all set limits, though. One wrinkle matters here. Court case files are not ordinary county administrative records under the Washington Public Records Act. Klickitat County splits the work in three ways. Superior case requests go to the County Clerk. Court administrative requests go to the Court Administrator under GR 31.1. District Court files go to East or West.
Key Rules:
General Rule 31 starts with public access to court records unless another authority restricts it.
General Rule 15 governs destruction, sealing, and redaction of court records.
General Rule 22 protects specified family and guardianship documents.
Restricted Klickitat Docket Material
Public access does not put every filing online. Washington marks adoption, mental-illness commitment, most paternity material, confidential name changes, juvenile non-offender matters, and sealed records as restricted. Other things stay sealed too. A family case can stay visible. Financial, health, relocation, law-enforcement, or evaluation documents may stay sealed under General Rule 22.
An index may show that a sealed document was filed. It lets no one view or copy it. Whole-case restrictions can leave a search result thin or empty. Then again, a blank result can just mean a spelling slip. It could be the wrong court, a date filter, or a slow update. Ask the proper clerk before deciding no file exists. Protected material often takes a focused motion and court order, not a general records request.
How the Clerk Keeps Docket Records
The Klickitat County Clerk indexes Superior Court cases and hands out plain or certified copies. Its Document Request instructions send many 2000 through 2023 Superior files to Washington State Digital Archives. There, search the full case number with dashes. Pick the Klickitat County Superior Court Files series, and watch for the image marker. Paid non-certified files download on the spot. Certified copies go by mail, since electronic certification is not offered.
That named archive range does not prove every file is imaged. Nor does it prove later records are missing. For older material, 2024 through 2026 filings, or a result with no image, contact the Clerk directly. Counter copies run $0.50 per page without certification. Certified copies cost $5 for the first page plus $1 for each added page. Confirm the current fee notice before you order.

Klickitat Court Workload in 2025
Washington Courts' 2025 annual report counts 5,053 filed cases across Klickitat County's district and municipal grouping, and the companion report lists 4,959 disposed charges or cases. The two numbers measure different things. A 2025 disposition can close a matter filed years earlier, and the category totals do not count unique people.
Those counts are why a narrow court and case-type filter helps. They say nothing about guilt, risk, or anyone's current status. For definitions and the source year, use the official annual cases-filed table.
Klickitat Dockets and Digital Archives
Searching a docket and ordering a document are two different jobs. Odyssey can find a Superior Court case and list public events. Its anonymous view does not promise the filed images, though. Klickitat County sends document buyers to Washington State Digital Archives for the named 2000 through 2023 Superior Court Files series. That workflow runs on the case number, a record-series pick, an image indicator, and a cart.
Anything newer or older may need a direct Clerk request. The 2025 Odyssey FAQ and quick-reference guide draw the public boundary plainly. Case information is open to anonymous users. Document-manager access is role-controlled and set county by county. E-filing through TrueFiling is a separate channel for submitting papers. It is not a public docket search. Filing there does not make a document an anonymous download.
The county archive instructions walk you from a known case number to an order. Keep three products distinct: the docket index, the filed paper, and the certified copy.
City-by-City Court Dockets in Klickitat County
Goldendale sends its municipal matters to East District Court. White Salmon and Bingen route theirs to West District Court. Neither city runs a docket portal of its own. So a city court docket search in Klickitat County has to go through the county's two district courts. Each city page opens with the state court directory, the assigned District Court's current calendar, and that clerk's route to court records. That is where the real case lookup happens.

White Salmon Court Records
2020 population 2,485 · Municipal docket routed through West District Court.

A separate West Klickitat District Court, for the White Salmon and Bingen area, sits at 501 NE Washington St. in White Salmon. Use the case type and record custodian, not the courthouse name alone, to pick the right counter.
