Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that feature. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email sent to us as needed to answer it. Messages remain within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may automatically receive these technical details:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help measure page use, including popular content and points where visits end. Analytics providers combine that traffic information. A browser can block cookies, though some site features may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Klickitat County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It publishes general directions to the County Clerk, Superior Court, East and West District Courts, and Washington case-search systems. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by the provider's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices rather than this policy. Review those terms before sending a query because we do not control them.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Klickitat County Clerk, local courts, statewide portals, legal-aid resources, or commercial search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may track activity across websites to select ads. That processing takes place through their systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected data. No internet system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such information is identified, contact us so it can be deleted.
Your Data Rights
Rights vary by residence and applicable Washington and federal privacy or consumer-protection law. The Washington Public Records Act, chapter 42.56 RCW, governs qualifying government-agency records, not the private visitor data held by this site. Washington court case records are instead governed by court rules and common law, including GR 31. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
